Reconstruction of Šiauliai City boiler plant’s was completed
Reconstruction of Šiauliai City southern boiler plant was completed in December of this year. The flue gas condensing economizer was assembled with the purpose to reduce consumption of natural gas. Total value of the project reaches 3.65 m Litas.
By applying innovative technological solutions and knowledge, the project was implemented by the company Enerstena which has a ten year experience in the sector of energy.
Efficiency of the modern boiler houses using gas is quite high, but even the highest boiler‘s efficiency can be increased by installing the condensing economizer. In this case, the condensing economizer is intended for the boilers with total capacity of 94.5 MW in the company Šiaulių energija. Heating rate of economizer is equal to 10.17 MW.
Additional heat will help to produce energy more efficiently and to reduce the necessary quantities of natural gas; therefore the company will be able to supply heat to the customers at lower prices. Benefit at national level: saving of natural gases reduces their demand and thereby the dependence on the imported fossil fuel. It is estimated that payback period of the project - the total value of which is equal to 3.65 m LTL - will be two and half of years.
